National Constitution Day

National Constitution Day

Uttam School for Girls celebrated the Constitution Day on 26th November 2020. To mark the significance of this day, a special assembly was conducted by the students of grade 5.
Students briefed every one of the features of our constitution and how it guides the governance of a great nation. The reading of the preamble filled the students with the spirit of patriotism. It was followed by a short educative video message by the students that highlighted the four guiding principles and pillars of the nation- EQUALITY, LIBERTY, JUSTICE and FRATERNITY. It left a message that the Constitution is not a remote document but permeates every aspect of our life.
Various activities were organized for the students on this occasion like designing the rulebook for online classes, creating their own constitution as council members. In the senior wing students made their videos while reading the oath. The students also watched the live streaming of the honourable Prime Minister reading the preamble to the constitution. Our Principal Mrs. Sharmila Raheja appreciated the students’ efforts and said that just as the Constitution is the voice of the people similarly class norms and school norms are the voice of the students. Our Head Mistress Mrs. Arti Khanna also encouraged the students and told them how our constitution ensures effective governance and that our liberty should not curtail the liberty of others.
