We welcomed Uttam students to school today keeping in mind all the COVID protocols. After days of silent hallways and empty classrooms, it was a delight today to welcome all of our students back into the premises. In their welcome, the school was decorated with balloons and many exciting activities were planned for them, such as, team building exercises, scavenger hunt and nature walk. Extensive preparation and planning were put into making school re-entry safe and welcoming for students. Our aim for the first day back was to normalize the school day, have students reacclimatize to the building, and reengage positive connections with other students and teachers. Seeing all of the students back in the building is creating a positive realization of how much we have truly missed the typical hubbub of a school day. Masks remain mandatory and physical distancing continues to be a requirement, the sight and sound of students back in school is exciting for all, and so let’s hope that this is the start of a return to regular life for everyone after the incredible challenges of the past year. It really was quite wonderful to see shining eyes peeking over the tops of masks, as students arrived today.
