Learning Beyond the Classroom: Lessons from the Hills of Himachal

“The most meaningful lessons are often learnt beyond the four walls of a classroom.”

Bringing learning to life through exploration and experience, nearly 100 students from Grades XI and XII embarked on an enriching educational excursion to Renuka Ji Lake and Nahan in Himachal Pradesh, accompanied by their teachers.

From exploring India’s smallest RAMSAR wetland and feeding fish at the sacred Renuka Ji Temple to spotting leopards at the zoological park, interacting with local villagers, and trekking 8 km to the historic Jaitak Fort, every experience became a lesson in itself.

More than just a journey to new destinations, the excursion fostered curiosity, resilience, environmental consciousness, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for nature, culture, and community. It was a memorable learning experience that extended far beyond the classroom, leaving students with lessons that will stay with them for life.
