    Etiquette And Grooming

Etiquette and Grooming is an essential part of the school curriculum. We train our young ladies right from the age of three in the art of dining etiquette , personal grooming and meal planning.

Teaching Etiquette and right grooming is an integral part of academic classes of Uttam School. This is of prime importance in the upbringing of students, particularly of girls.

Right behaviour strengthens codes which stress the value of poise, grace and dignity. These are strongly emphasised, not simply as lessons but as learning experiences. In the Junior School students learn etiquette and basic cooking in the Young Chef's Club every Saturday.  Etiquette classes are conducted by Director herself in the  Middle and Senior School. Students also attend practical demonstration on table - laying, serving (4 demonstrators) on courses from soup to dessert. They learn to cope correctly with cutlery, napery and conversation.

Every Friday, students from Nursery to Prep classes are served food from the School Cafeteria. The sole purpose of this exercise is to groom young ones on how to handle spoons, forks and knives, using napkins and eating carefully so no food article drops on the table or floor.
